Three Generations, Bluegrass and Western Swing

Harold Christensen	HAROLD Harold is from Brier, WA. and always claims to “be the start of all this”. Harold started playing music when he was 13 years old. He played the steel guitar and later converted to dobro. He formed a little band when he was in high school called the Smith Creek Boys. They played for various gigs through high school. He played more music when he could, in the military in Korea. Later when his grandson Nick showed such promise on the fiddle, Harold started a little family group, which is now called The Three Generations.
Nick Dumas	NICK Nick is from Brier, WA., and is a 17 yr. old sophomore attending high school He is also an award winning bluegrass fiddler. Nick has only been playing the bluegrass fiddle for 4 1/2 years and is amazing us all with his incredible natural talent. Nick does not read music and learns and plays everything by ear. In addition to the fiddle, Nick also plays the mandolin, flat pickin’ guitar, sings and composes.
Tammy Dumas	TAMMY Nick’s mother (Harold's daughter), Tammy is also from Brier, WA and has an incredible Nashville voice. She's the featured vocalist with The Three Generations. She also plays the mandolin and composes. Tammy worked as a studio vocalist for approximately 7 years, writing, composing and recording music, not only on personal projects but for other artists as well.
Val Ranz	VAL Harold's other beautiful daughter, Val, resides in Woodinville, WA. She started her music interests in school singing in chorus and taking piano lessons. She was a previous member of a local country gospel band for approx. 24 years, before joining the family band. She sings harmony with Tammy and Nick and also plays mandolin.
Chrisann Gray	CHRISANN Very close friends of the Three Generations family, are the Gray family members from Arlington, WA. Chrisann plays several instruments, including the fiddle, and rhythm guitar. Chrisann has always been involved in music through various orchestras, chamber groups, church, and musical theater. She attributes her love of music to her parents, and some of her grandparents, several of which were musical professionals. She and her son Derek joined The Three Generations in 2004 and are vital members of the band.
Derek Gray	DEREK Derek is Chrisann’s 18-year-old son and is a senior in high school. Derek is self-taught on the upright bass and has been playing for about 2 years. He has no intentions of slowing down! He also joined the band back in 2004 and is enjoying the ride!
Austin McGregor	AUSTIN Austin is the newest member of The Three Generations band and makes his home in Burien, WA. He is 16 years old and a junior in high school. Austin plays the bluegrass banjo and has only been playing for about 1 year. Remarkably, he is also self-taught. We are excited to have him a part of our family and look forward to many years together playing the music we all love. BLUEGRASS!
