ANNOUNCEMENT

The Three Generations new CD, "A Miner's Prayer" will be coming out on July 14th"

Three Generations is a bluegrass band based out of beautiful Washington State and is comprised up of three generations of family members and a few great friends.

The band was formed back in 2003 and was originally made up of only three family members; grandpa, daughter and grandson (three generations).  It was formed mainly as a musical outlet for a then 12-year-old talented fiddler named Nick Dumas.  In a short time, it has grown into an amazing collage of talent, which creates a unique and exciting form of bluegrass music.

Interesting how musical talent runs in the family.  The band is comprised of Nick Dumas, now 17, who plays the fiddle, mandolin, flat pickin’ guitar and sings; his grandpa (Papa), Harold Christensen, who plays the dobro guitar and has been a musician all his life; his mom, Tammy Dumas, who takes the roll as lead vocal and plays the mandolin, and his aunt, Val Ranz, who also sings and plays mandolin: thus the name “The Three Generations”.

The band would not be complete without adding a few dynamic friends.  First, there is Chrisann Gray who plays the rhythm guitar, among many other instruments, including the fiddle.  Her 18-year-old son, Derek Gray is an incredible natural talent on the stand-up bass. The newest member to the band is Austin McGregor who is also 16 years old and plays a serious bluegrass banjo.

The group is members of various local organizations including the Seattle Western Swing Music Society and the Washington Bluegrass Association.
